Common Questions

What is a DJ intro?
A DJ intro is a produced opener that announces you at the start of a set, mix or show. It mixes a voiceover with music and effects, so the crowd knows who is on the decks before your first track lands. Think of it as your entrance.

What is the difference between a DJ intro and a DJ drop?
Length and job. A DJ intro is a bigger moment with music under it, made to open a set or a show. A drop is a few words you fire over a mix or between tracks, as often as you like. This pack gives you both, so you can open with an intro and keep your name in the room with the drops. Read more about what DJ drops are.

What can I fit into 15 words?
More than you might think. "Make some noise, DJ Nova is in the building, and tonight belongs to you" is 14 words and gives a voice room to build. Your drops have up to 5 words, so they work best as your name plus a short line, like "DJ Nova, in the mix".

Do I need to write the script myself?
No. Script help is free. Send us your wording if you have it, or tell us your DJ name, your genre and the feel you want, and we will work on it with you after you order.

How do I choose the voice?
Tell us the style you want when our team gets in touch: full club energy, smooth and late night, or something deeper. One voice artist then records all five pieces, which is what keeps your intros and drops sounding like one brand. Browse our voices if you already have someone in mind.

Where can I use my DJ intros?
Anywhere your name needs announcing: at the top of a live set, on mixtapes and recorded mixes, on mix shows and radio, and at the start of a podcast. A strong opener also makes a recorded mix sound finished, even for someone who has never heard of you.

How do I play them in my DJ software?
They are standard audio files, so they load like any other track. Put an intro on a deck and start it as your opener, then bring your first record in underneath. Load the drops into your sampler and fire them from a pad: Sampler in Serato and rekordbox, Remix Decks in Traktor, or the sampler in VirtualDJ. For more on building an opener, see our epic DJ intro guide.

Is this the right pack for me?
Choose this one if you want an opener with music plus a few drops. If you only need drops, custom DJ drops gives you 10, up to 11 words each. If you want something ready to go, hear every ready made pack in our DJ drops collection.
